Home Remodeling Cost Overview
An increase in demand for construction and remodeling will drive up costs for materials and labor.
Here are our 2026 estimated remodeling costs by project type*:
* The ranges displayed above represent standard costs for a project with MRC Design Group. The majority of our projects exceed the minimum costs. Normally, our clients opt to enhance materials and scope beyond basic levels.
+ A primary bathroom is generally more spacious and expensive than a hallway bathroom and commonly features BOTH a shower and freestanding tub.
** For large home renovations, prices usually start around $250,000 and may surpass $1 million. Our work is tailored to our customers ensuring each project is one-of-a-kind.
We are a general contracting company with design capabilities, so our project estimates include the design, materials, a dedicated project manager, permits and labor. However, Project estimates exclude costs for appliances, furniture or décor. As each project is unique; cost varies on size, age of home, level of finish and complexity.
Keep in mind that as you progress, the scope of your project may increase. For instance, a kitchen remodel may extend into the dining room or adjacent rooms. Your project manager will communicate these changes and be there to provide guidance.

Frequently Asked Questions
What affects the cost of a remodeling project?
The cost of remodeling is based on the size of the project, the age of your home, the materials you choose, the complexity of the project, and the cost to construct.
How long does it take to remodel a kitchen?
Generally, it requires about 6-8 weeks to renovate a kitchen. However, more complex projects with wall movement or structural concerns may require additional time.
How long does it take to remodel a bathroom?
In most cases, remodeling a bathroom takes about 4-8 weeks. However, for projects with intricate components such as moving walls or dealing with mechanical or structural challenges, the timeframe may be extended.
What are the benefits of design-build?
Design-build teamwork ensures open communication, efficient project management, and proactive issue prevention to keep your project moving smoothly.
Is design-build remodel more expensive?
Design-Build streamlines cost by overseeing the project from concept to finish. A design-build team designs a space, purchases materials, stays in budget, and executes the construction.
The alternative is the design-bid-build approach, requiring homeowners to find subcontractors and materials themselves. Engaging in bidding and managing multiple contracts could lead to frustration, heightened labor costs, lower-quality materials, and significant time inefficiency.
Questions about MRC Design Group
What is your service area?
Our core service area includes Broward and Miami-Dade Counties (Palm Beach limited). Most of our projects have been located in Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Weston, Doral, Aventura, Bal Harbour, Brickell, North Miami Beach, and the surrounding communities. We have relationships with these cities, which is important during the permitting and inspection process.
With our home base in Weston, we try to service projects within a 30-45 minute radius. This ensures that our staff can provide you with the best service possible and ensures we can get to your project in a timely manner, should anything arise.
Check to see if you live in our core service area. If you are near the border or think we should make a special exemption for your project, please reach out to us because sometimes we do make an exception.
How long have you been in business?
We have been in business for over 15 years, since 2008.
Do you offer design-only service?
No, we do not offer design-only service. We are a General Contracting company and designs are only based on the project and construction. If you want to 'Do-It-Yourself' the construction or hire your own construction crew, we are not the right fit for your project.
How do I get an estimate for my project?
The best way to start the estimate process is via our Contact Us page. A member of our team will contact you, provide our 'New Client Form' and schedule a phone consultation once completed.
When do I need to sign a contract?
Upon finalizing the design and estimate, the planning moves to the 'Project Development' phase. A 'Project Development Agreement' needs to be signed, accompanied by an initial payment between
40-60% of the project estimate; the initial payment percentage is solely determined by the project's
size and complexity. The remaining balance of the project would be due at completion.
During the "Project Development" phase, drawings are finalized, materials are chosen, and an agreement is signed. The initial payment is to cover initial project costs (materials, demo, labor, etc.).
Do you oversee the construction?
Yes, our General Contractor will oversee the project schedule and construction.
